One day in September, we received a large envelope from a supporting church. We wondered what it could be and were delighted at what we found inside!

Ellie Stump, an elementary-aged girl, had created this amazing note of encouragement for us this summer during Grace Fellowship’s Missions Club. We love it! The accompanying letter – written by a big person – explained that that children preK through 5th grade had participated in Grace Fellowship’s Missions Club to “learn more about what God is doing around the world and how He calls us to join Him in His work.” During their first week, campers learned about the church’s mission partners (including PPI), prayed for all of us, and created these cards of encouragement.
Well done, Grace Fellowship, and well done, kids! This is a good example for all of us.
So many things compete for our focus and commitment these days. What should we give priority? What should our children value? Do we want our kids to stand out on the travel team or gymnastics squad? Or do we want our children especially to know Jesus and grow in passion for His mission? Church and sports aren’t mutually exclusive, but which should we give greater priority and passion to? What is the order of our “loves”?
Praise God for churches and parents who are getting it right and doing their best to disciple their children in what our God values most. Let it be true of all of us!
