What a Week in Haiti!

July 23, 2021 by Ken MacGillivray

Today marks the end of our first of two weeks in Haiti – and what a week it’s been for our mission team! Here are some highlights (enjoy the pics below):

  • We greeted and prayed with our partner pastors.
  • Along with our Haitian team, we prepared all materials for the pastors training.
  • Jerry shared the gospel and Brian shared his testimony in an English language class for young adults.
  • Tony, Ken and Jerry taught classes in a Bible college, founded last year by one of our partner pastors.
  • We visited and spoke in two Haitian churches.
  • We led 18 hours of ministry training for 107 Haitian church leaders over three days.
  • We ate a lot of rice!

We plan to leave on Saturday for our next pastors training in Cap Haitien. Pray that the city remains calm after President Jovenel’s funeral there today. Pray that we are able to start our training conference as scheduled on Monday morning. Pray that the Lord will keep us safe so that we can fulfill His will for our two weeks here.

Thank you for your prayers and support for our trip to Haiti for such a time as this!

The word HAITI is on my frig so I am prompted to pray often during the day. Encouraging report! Go forth with boldness and sensitivity. Prayers continue.

Amen! Thanks so much for your encouragement and prayers, friends. I am sharing your comments with our team. Cap Haitien is calming down, and we plan to drive up there tomorrow (Sunday) morning. We’re praying for the Lord to clear the way (literally!) and give us the opportunity to lead the pastors training there beginning Monday morning. Please continue to pray for us!

We continue to think and pray for you all asking the good Lord to keep you safe as you impact the local Haitian community for Christ.

Thank you for the update. Your trip has been shared with our church family here in North Carolina for the last few weeks, for prayer support and to remind them of their investment in the Greater Church. Keep hard charging.

Thank you for your prayers and encouragement, Dave and Mike. We just finished Day 1 of our second conference (in Cap Haitien). A good day – thanks to the Lord! For this conference, we are leading Course 2 – Our Powerful Gospel, a study of Romans 1-5.

Some Investment Advice

I have some investment advice. It’s a sure thing, better than tech stocks, CDs or even gold. And it’s  simple: Lend to the Lord. He will repay whatever you loan Him with generous return. God inked that promissory note in Proverbs 19:17, “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will […]
